President Volodymyr Zelenskiy urges Western allies to allow the use of their weapons for strikes deep inside Russia and to supply more arms. After discussions with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in Zaporizhzhia, positive prospects were noted. The Netherlands pledged significant financial support and equipment for Ukraine's defense and infrastructure needs.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has called on Ukraine's Western allies to let their weapons be used for strikes deep into Russia and to increase the supply of arms to Kyiv. Zelenskiy's appeal came after a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in Zaporizhzhia, where he expressed optimism about receiving such permissions.
Zelenskiy emphasized the necessity of allies ensuring their weapons deliveries. 'We didn't get everything we would like to use,' he added, discussing the enhancement of Ukraine's air defenses and the possible expansion of the F-16 jet fleet.
Schoof confirmed continued support with air defense equipment, F-16s, and funding for munitions, in addition to 200 million euros for repairing energy infrastructure and humanitarian aid. The Netherlands will also provide refurbished gas turbines worth 29.5 million euros.
