Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited the flood-affected areas in Singhnagar, Vijayawada, to review ongoing relief efforts. Accompanied by government officials, he inspected the sites on Sunday, according to an official statement.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to distribute food and water bottles to the affected residents, personally supervising the distribution to ensure aid reached those in need.

Naidu assessed the flood situation and discussed relief measures with officials. He ordered immediate actions to assist the flood victims.

Additionally, Naidu announced that he will stay at the Vijayawada Collectorate through Sunday and Monday to monitor the flood situation. Heavy rains have caused the Budameru Vagu river to swell, creating a flood-like scenario in multiple areas of the city.

Aerial footage revealed rainwater submerging several parts of Vijayawada, including Rama Krishna Puram, leading to significant flooding of homes and vehicles.

Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have launched rescue and relief operations, relocating affected individuals to rehabilitation centers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a five-day weather warning.

The IMD forecasts heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning for the next four days in isolated areas of North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.

On Saturday, a house in Mogalrajapuram collapsed due to a rockslide triggered by heavy rain, resulting in the death of a woman. Two other women were hospitalized but are in stable condition.

Chief Minister Naidu held a review meeting Saturday, urging officials to stay vigilant and alert in rain-affected regions.
