Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has launched a pointed criticism against Rajya Sabha MP and Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal for his 'symptomatic malaise' remarks. Dhankhar stated that such comments, especially in the context of the recent Kolkata incident, only serve to deepen societal pain.

Addressing a public event, Dhankhar referred to the incident, involving the rape and murder of a healthcare worker, as "barbarity expressed in extremity" and shaming humanity. He criticized Sibal, representing the Mamata Banerjee government, for diminishing the seriousness of the act by implying it was a frequent occurrence.

Dhankhar called on Sibal to retract his statement and issue a public apology, stressing that looking through a political prism in such matters destroys objectivity. He also emphasized the need for revolutionary, secure mechanisms to protect the health sector from threats, ensuring the safety of those serving humanity.
