Delhi Environment Minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai asserted on Sunday that the city has witnessed a 45% decrease in pollution, attributing the success to long-term government initiatives.
Speaking with ANI, Rai highlighted that the pollution-reducing measures include the introduction of 2,000 electric buses, 24/7 electricity provision, and an expanded green belt. He emphasized the switch of polluting industries to CNG and the shutdown of thermal power plants as pivotal steps.
Rai also mentioned the development of a winter action plan and his intention to seek suggestions from BJP and Congress leaders. "We will include any viable suggestions in the plan," Rai said, after a recent meeting with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to strategize against winter air pollution.
