Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected the Vande Sleeper Coach at BEML in Bengaluru on Sunday, signaling a significant development in India's railway sector. 'We expect the passenger operation of Vande Sleeper Coach in three months from now... This is a full sleeper version,' Vaishnaw informed reporters post-inspection.

The Minister highlighted that the manufacturing process of the Vande Sleeper Coach is now complete, with the units set to roll out from the BEML factory soon. 'We are starting on a very important journey today. After the success of the Vande Bharat chair-car, the Vande Sleeper's design and manufacturing were highly anticipated. That phase is now complete, and the Vande Sleeper will emerge from the factory in the coming days,' Vaishnaw elaborated.

He acknowledged the complexity involved in designing a new train and noted the inclusion of numerous new features in the Vande Sleeper. Vaishnaw also emphasized that the Vande Bharat chair-car, Vande Sleeper, Vande Metro, and Amrit Bharat projects are set to revolutionize travel in India. 'These projects reflect the aspirational India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,' he stated. Earlier, Vaishnaw laid the foundation stone for a new hangar for standard and broad gauge rolling stock manufacturing at BEML. Following his engagements at BEML, he is scheduled to interact with trainees and staff at the Multi-disciplinary Divisional Training Institute in Bengaluru this afternoon.
