Kerala's response to sexual abuse allegations in the film industry has garnered national attention. CPI (M) Kerala Secretary MV Govindan confirmed that eleven cases have been registered, including one against CPI (M) MLA Mukesh. Govindan emphasized that everyone will be held accountable regardless of status.

Govindan remarked during a press conference that Kerala's government demonstrates its commitment to justice by acting against its own MLA. He stressed that no special privileges would be given during the investigation, setting a precedent for the entire country. A committee headed by Shaji N. Karun has been established to formulate a cinema policy.

The opposition has demanded MLA Mukesh's resignation, but Govindan pointed out that numerous MPs and MLAs across parties face similar accusations without stepping down. On internal party matters, Govindan revealed that PK Sasi has been removed from elected positions due to financial misappropriation, following approval by the State Committee.
