A delegation of prominent Muslim religious leaders and scholars from across India convened with Union Minority Minister Kiren Rijiju at his residence on Saturday. The delegation was spearheaded by Hazrat Syed Naseruddin Chishty, Chairman of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council and spiritual head of Ajmer Dargah. The meeting was organized by BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.

The delegation addressed various concerns affecting the Muslim community, with particular emphasis on issues related to Waqf Boards. They conveyed their grievances and sought governmental intervention. One of the major demands was the establishment of a separate Dargah Board to handle the affairs of Dargahs, independent of Waqf Boards, which they claimed were problematic.

The leaders also voiced their confidence in the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) constituted by Parliament to address issues and grievances related to the Waqf Board. They lauded the government's initiative as a positive step towards better governance, transparency, and accountability of Waqf properties, ensuring they benefit the most disadvantaged Muslims.
