Assam Govt to Host First-Ever Science Fair at Assam Sahitya Sabha’s 77th Biennial Conference
In a bid to spark scientific interest among students and the public, the Assam government will organize its inaugural Science Fair during the 77th Biennial Conference of the Assam Sahitya Sabha from January 31 to February 4, 2025. Various institutions, including IIT Guwahati, will participate.

In a pioneering move to ignite scientific curiosity among students and the broader public, the Assam government will host its first-ever Science Fair as part of the 77th Biennial Conference of the Assam Sahitya Sabha. The event will take place in Pathsala from January 31 to February 4, 2025.
Announcing the initiative, Assam Panchayat Rural & Development Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass revealed that the government collaborated with various departments and organizations, including the Science and Technology Department, IIT Guwahati, Dibrugarh University, and Assam Agriculture University, to ensure the event's success. "The Science Fair aims to create an engaging environment that benefits students," Dass told ANI.
Highlighting the educational impact, Dass noted that the state's students would gain significantly from the five-day fair, which aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's broader educational initiatives. Over 30-40 scientists from the Bajali area and a large number of students are expected to participate, offering various science-related activities throughout the conference.
