Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited various areas of Vadodara on Friday evening to inspect cleaning efforts and other work conducted by the municipality amid regional flooding. During his visit, he engaged with sanitation workers and held a meeting with Vadodara Municipal Corporation staff.

"Today (August 30), we inspected the area and met with flood-affected residents," Sanghavi told ANI, expressing gratitude to the corporators and cleaning staff for their efforts. "I believe Vadodara can become the top city not just in Gujarat, but in the country. This determination is evident among all corporators, and I commend the sanitation workers for their outstanding work," he added.

Amidst the flood-like conditions in Gujarat, Jamnagar Collector Bhavin Pandya emphasized the district administration's focus on immediate relief and public safety. "Recent heavy rain has caused flooding due to dam overflows, affecting various urban and rural areas. The situation remains tense," Pandya stated.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) scientist Ramashray Yadav noted that Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are expected to experience light to moderate rains. "Kachchh received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Since June 1, Gujarat has seen 882 mm of rainfall—50% above normal. Saurashtra and Kachchh regions have exceeded normal rainfall levels. Light to moderate rains are predicted for Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar today," Yadav reported.
