Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to craft a new Tourism Policy aimed at developing additional tourist destinations, confirmed an official release from the CMO on Friday. The directive was issued during the SPEED (Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery) review at the Secretariat.

The high-level meeting concluded with a decision to draft separate policies for Temple Tourism, Eco Tourism, and Health Tourism. Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the importance of promoting historic temples, forest areas, and medical facilities as attractive tourist spots. New tourism packages, including transport and accommodation facilities, are to be introduced.

The CM urged Forest officials to explore safari options in Kawal Tiger Reserve and Amrabad and construct cottages for overnight stays. Identification of suitable tourism areas and prioritization of projects by the Tourism, Endowments, and Forest Department were emphasized. Proper maintenance of infrastructure like Haritha Hotels and guest houses was also highlighted to attract tourists. A new zoo park will be established on the outskirts of Hyderabad over an area of about 1,000 acres, featuring animals and birds from various regions. The development of urban forests will also be prioritized.
