Kolkata Police has refuted claims made in viral audio clips alleging that the police had informed the parents of the RG Kar victim that she died by suicide. Deputy Commissioner of Central Division, Indira Mukherjee, stated unequivocally that the police never termed the incident as a suicide.

At a press briefing, Indira Mukherjee clarified, 'We heard some audio clips that were played by many channels. No such comments have been made by Kolkata Police. We never said that it was a suicide.' She also addressed allegations suggesting that the color of the bedspread used to cover the victim's body indicated foul play.

'Some video clips claim the color of the curtain or bedsheet used to cover the body was different from the initially declared blue. Our photography and videography started at 12:25 PM on that particular day. Videography was done in phases at the time of seizure and when the forensic team arrived. I assure you, the material used to cover the body was blue and all data has been handed over to CBI,' Mukherjee added.

Meanwhile, the victim's father distanced himself from the viral audio clips, refusing to confirm that the voice was his. 'We don't know how the phone conversation went viral. We will not take responsibility for it,' he said. He also mentioned that the issue would not affect the investigation.

The victim's family expressed their discontent with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's comments on the case. 'I didn't like what she said. The whole world stands by my daughter, and they are protesting for justice. Yet, she says we do not want justice,' stated the victim's mother. 'Mamata has no son or daughter herself, so she cannot understand the pain of losing a child.'

Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) visited the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital for further investigation into the rape and murder of the trainee doctor. The CBI also concluded a second round of polygraph tests on former principal Sandip Ghosh and arrested accused Sanjay Roy.
