Three Female Naxalites Killed in Abujhmad Encounter, Weapons Recovered

Three women Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Abujhmad. They were identified as members of the North Bastar Division Committee. A substantial amount of weaponry and Naxal material were seized. Moreover, several Naxalites have surrendered, and others were found deceased during recent anti-Naxal operations.

In a significant encounter on Thursday, three female Naxalites were killed by security forces in the dense forests of Abujhmad, Narayanpur. The deceased have been identified as members of the North Bastar Division Committee and the PLGA Company number 5.

A joint operation by the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Special Task Force (STF), and Border Security Force led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons, including a 303 rifle and 315 bore guns. Narayanpur SP Prabhat Kumar confirmed the information, noting the encounter began around 8 a.m. when Naxalites opened fire on the police team.

Kumar revealed that the bodies of the three women were discovered alongside a considerable amount of arms and ammunition. Amber Kishor Jha, Warangal Commissioner, mentioned the surrender of Anil, a Nalabelli resident and area committee member who had a Rs. 4 lakh reward on him, urging other underground operatives to join the mainstream.

IG Bastar, P Sundarraj, shared that recent monsoon anti-Naxal operations have resulted in the recovery of 26 bodies, 212 arrests, and 201 surrenders. Deputy IG Kanker, KL Dhruv, added that further searches are ongoing to determine if more Naxalites were injured or killed in the encounter.
