Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the suspension of six police officers after a disturbing video of an assault on a woman and her grandson at the Katni GRP station went viral. Immediately after the video surfaced, Yadav ordered a DIG-level investigation.

The National Commission for Women also took note and urged the state's Director General of Police for a thorough probe. The Commission demanded swift action and expected a detailed report within three days.

Congress leader Jitendra Patwari criticized the government's response, alleging anti-Dalit bias and vowing to go on a hunger strike until justice is served. In response, the local railway police confirmed that all officers involved had been suspended and promised further action pending the investigation.
