In a recent development, Iran's Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has appointed Hamid Boord as the new CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), according to the oil ministry's news agency, SHANA.

Boord will also serve as the deputy oil minister as part of Paknejad's strategic vision for the company. Additionally, Paknejad appointed several members to the company's administrative board, SHANA reported.

Paknejad was approved as Iran's new Oil Minister on August 21, under the unity cabinet led by Masoud Pezeshkian. NIOC is a key player in OPEC's oil production landscape.
