Media and Communications Minister Paul Goldsmith has announced the appointment of four new members to the boards of RNZ and TVNZ. Brent Impey, Gracie MacKinlay, and Mads Moller will join the RNZ Board, while John Fellet will take a seat on the TVNZ Board, starting from 1 September 2024.

“These appointments bring a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives that will help guide our public media into the future,” said Minister Goldsmith.

Brent Impey, with a background in the media industry, particularly in radio, and significant governance experience including his tenure as chair of NZ Rugby, is set to bring strong financial and commercial expertise to the RNZ Board.

Gracie MacKinlay, former chief executive of the e-commerce company Mighty Ape, has a background in technology-driven businesses across media and retail. Her experience will add valuable insight to RNZ’s digital strategies.

Mads Moller, a technology entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience, has held global executive roles at Google and Vodafone. His extensive background in tech startups and international business will further strengthen RNZ’s board.

John Fellet, who previously served as chief executive and managing director of Sky TV until 2019, will bring his extensive commercial expertise, financial management skills, and experience in business transformation to the TVNZ Board.

Minister Goldsmith expressed his confidence in the appointees, noting their high calibre and the significant contributions they are expected to make to New Zealand's public media landscape.
