Odisha to Roll Out CM-KISAN Scheme for New Farmers
Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo has announced in the Assembly that the state government will soon begin the process of including new farmers under the CM-KISAN scheme. This scheme, replacing the previous KALIA scheme, aims to empower small, marginal, and landless agricultural households with financial support.

Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo announced that the state government will soon start the process of including new farmers under the CM-KISAN scheme.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, in his first budget speech, revealed the rollout of this scheme, replacing the previous BJD government's KALIA scheme. The government has allocated Rs 1,935 crore for CM-KISAN for the 2024-25 financial year.
In a written reply to the Assembly, Singh Deo, who holds the Agriculture and Farmers' Empowerment portfolio, mentioned that small, marginal farmers and landless agricultural households stand to benefit from the scheme. Farmers will receive Rs 4,000 annually in two instalments, while landless agriculture families can receive Rs 12,500 in three instalments. Applications will be processed via the CM-KISAN portal soon.
