In a scathing attack on the Adityanath-led BJP government, Samajwadi Party MP Awadesh Prasad on Wednesday criticized the administration following the tragic deaths of two young girls found hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district. Prasad described the incident as both 'saddening and painful', highlighting what he perceives as a complete breakdown of law and order since the BJP assumed power.

Prasad remarked, 'Every day, incidents like this keep happening in UP. The law and order is out of their control.' He called for a swift investigation and financial assistance for the victims' families. The incident occurred in Bhagautipur village and has shocked the local community.

Local authorities have confirmed that the two girls, aged 18 and 15, were found hanging from a tree, with no evidence of sexual or physical assault according to the post-mortem. The police suspect that the girls tied their dupattas to the tree and committed suicide.

The father of one of the deceased, Pappu, spoke to ANI recounting the events leading up to the tragic discovery. 'We had returned from the temple, and the girls told me they were going for a program. When they didn't return, I searched everywhere but couldn't find them until morning when someone discovered their bodies,' he said.
