The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has updated its report indicating that 245 individuals were injured during Dahi Handi celebrations on Krishna Janmashtami. Initially, the count was 238, but it has significantly risen.

Many of the injured 'Govindas,' participants who form human pyramids to break a pot filled with curd and butter, are receiving treatment at several private hospitals and have also been discharged from multiple healthcare facilities including JJ Hospital, St. George Hospital, GT Hospital, and others.

New reports confirm that 207 people have been discharged. Last year, 195 participants were injured during similar celebrations. Dahi Handi is a traditional event symbolizing Lord Krishna's playful acts and is celebrated with human pyramids trying to break a pot filled with dairy products.

The festivities coincide with the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, observed on the eighth day of Bhadra month as per the Hindu calendar, and usually lands in August or September.
