The postmortem examination of two teenage girls discovered hanging from a tree in Bhagautipur village, Kaimganj, has shown no evidence of sexual or physical assault, according to Chief Medical Officer Farrukhabad Avanindra Kumar.
Farrukhabad SP Alok Priyadarshi stated that both girls were close friends and initial findings suggest they died by suicide. "We received information from Bhagautipur that two girls, aged 18 and 15, were found hanging from a tree. Upon arrival, we discovered that they were close friends and seemed to have hanged themselves using a single dupatta," he said. An investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of death, with a phone and SIM card recovered from the scene.
The father of one of the girls, Pappu, told ANI that he was initially unaware of their whereabouts after they left for a temple program. He suspected foul play, believing someone had murdered and then hung the girls. However, police believe the girls climbed the tree and tied the dupatta themselves.
