Three Killed, Two Injured in Shastri Nagar Truck Accident

A truck accident in Shastri Nagar led to three deaths and two serious injuries as a vehicle veered onto the footpath, striking sleeping individuals. Police are investigating the incident and searching for the driver.

Three individuals lost their lives and two sustained serious injuries after a truck rammed into them while they were asleep on a road verge in Shastri Nagar on Monday morning. The police received an emergency call from Tarbuz market, located behind the Shastri Park metro station, reporting the accident.

Dr. Joy Tirkey, DCP North East Delhi, stated, "A PCR call was received at 4:56 am concerning an accident in the Shastri Park area. A canter truck traveling from Seelampur toward Iron Bridge mounted the central verge, running over five individuals sleeping on the footpath. The driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle." Police confirmed that all three victims were sleeping on the central road verge.

Dr. Tirkey added, "Mustaq and Kamlesh are seriously injured while efforts are ongoing to identify the three deceased males." The injured were transported to JPC Hospital. Police officials are working to identify the deceased and apprehend the fugitive driver. Further investigation is underway.
