Nation Celebrates Krishna Janmashtami with Devotion and Security
Devotees across India thronged ISKCON Temples to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami, with special events like 'Maha Arti' at midnight. Extensive security arrangements ensured safety at key locations like Mathura. Devotional fervor echoed across the country as various rituals and festivities were performed.

On Monday, devotees gathered in large numbers at ISKCON Temples across India to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami, offering prayers and participating in various rituals. The 'Maha Arti' ceremony was scheduled for midnight, according to ISKCON National Communications Director Vrajendra Nandan Das.
The celebrations were particularly vibrant at the ISKCON Temple in the East of Kailash, New Delhi, where 'Maha Abhishek' and 'Chhappan Bhog' events were also planned. Thousands of devotees thronged to the temple as soon as it opened at 4:30 pm.
In Mathura, special security measures were in place as more than 2000 personnel, including teams of ATS, commandos, and fire services, ensured the safety of attendees. Superintendent Bajrang Bali Chaurasia highlighted the usage of drones to monitor the area while facilitating proper parking and entry arrangements.
The celebrations spread across the country, with morning aartis held at locations including Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple and Chowpatty's ISKCON Temple in Mumbai. Devotees in Ahmedabad also gathered at the local ISKCON Temple in huge numbers.
As Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on August 26th this year, devotees traditionally fast, decorate temples and homes with flowers and lights, with the most grand celebrations in Mathura and Vrindavan.
