West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum staged a protest in Tollygunge, calling for justice for the victim of the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder incident. The group urged the Kolkata administration to take accountability for the rising number of such incidents.

Actor Parambrata Chatterjee stated, 'Sixteen days have passed, and at least five other rape incidents have occurred in this period. It is essential that the Kolkata administration is held accountable. All those involved in the RG Kar incident should face strict punishment. There needs to be a systemic change in the mentality that leads to rape.'

On Saturday, a delegation of resident doctors met with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials to discuss the alleged sexual assault and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College. Dr. Kinjal, part of the delegation, reported that the CBI could not commit to a timeline for solving the case. They were told to maintain faith in the investigation process.

The Court has given the CBI a three-week deadline to submit a progress report on the investigation, due September 17. The trainee doctor was found dead in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College on August 9.
