Union Minister Jitendra Singh has commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decisive leadership in restoring peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Singh noted that this stability has even allowed senior opposition leaders to enjoy the region's newfound calm, as demonstrated by a recent visit to Ahdoos restaurant in Lal Chowk. 'This is a testament to the peace and normalcy that have been restored in the region,' Singh remarked during a recent event.

'The historic decision to abrogate Article 370 has granted citizenship rights to a vast population in J-K, who were deprived of it for the last seven decades,' stated Singh, who holds several portfolios, including Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences. According to Singh, advocates of Article 370 in J-K had exploited constitutional provisions to serve their political interests.

Singh also pointed out the vested interests of the former ruling parties in J-K, as the provision allowed them to get elected and form governments with minimal voter support, perpetuating dynasty rule. He highlighted significant developments in the past five years since the abrogation, particularly in democratic processes, governance, development, and security.

Remembering that the 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Panchayat Act were passed by the Congress government but not applied in J&K, Singh explained that democratic decentralization had stalled due to lack of central funds until 2019. 'The credit for bringing peace and development goes to PM Modi,' Singh asserted, noting that Modi had instilled confidence in the people of J-K and had driven the region's transformation.

In the context of India's maiden National Space Day, Singh spoke about the nation's space journey, which began in 1969. He applauded the scientific community for their dedication, resulting in India becoming the first nation to land on the Moon's South Pole. Singh credited the policy support and leadership provided by Prime Minister Modi since 2014 for accelerating scientific missions and opening the space sector to private participation, culminating in nearly 300 space startups.

'Prime Minister Modi enabled India's space scientists to vindicate the dream of their founding father Vikram Sarabhai by unlocking India's space sector and fostering an environment conducive to innovation,' Singh concluded.
