Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday visited the Bokafa HS school shelter, where 305 flood-affected individuals have sought refuge following the floods in the region. He directed officials to provide essential support and amenities to ensure the comfort and well-being of citizens.

Saha also inspected the flood-hit areas in Amarpur and Karbook on Friday after boarding an MI-17 helicopter at Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport to head to Gomati District and South Tripura. 'Road infrastructure is severely impacted. Helicopters are deployed for airlift, and road repair efforts are underway. We have ample food packets and four helicopters in operation. Our teams are working diligently to provide aid to affected communities,' stated the CM.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) confirmed that four teams are deployed in South Tripura, Unakoti, Khowai, and West Tripura, engaging in rescue operations. The NDRF posted on X, 'Four teams are deployed for Flood Water Rescue (FWR) in South Tripura, Unakoti, Khowai, and West Tripura. They have evacuated 936 people and 38 livestock. Seven additional teams are airlifted to Agartala for FWR operations in Gomati, Sepahijala, and other flood-affected areas.'

Meanwhile, CM Saha also visited Udaipur in Gomati district, severely affected by heavy rains. 'Reaching out to flood-affected areas by chopper, assessing damage, and ensuring aid reaches those in need. Constantly reviewing the flood situation and working to support affected people,' said the CM in a post on X.

Large areas are flooded, leaving many citizens homeless and staying in various relief camps. The CM inspected the relief camps at Khilpara Higher Secondary School and Khilpara Market Shed and reviewed their management. As the Gomati River flows at 22.30 meters, above the extreme danger level of 22 meters, the state administration has shifted all riverbank families. The government has urged all citizens to remain alert until water levels return to normal.

Essential food items are being air-dropped using MI-17 helicopters for severely affected individuals in Amarpur and Karbook under the Gomati district. The administration monitors the situation constantly, with initiatives underway to rescue and provide relief and healthcare to affected people. On Thursday, CM Saha inspected the shelter house at B.R. Ambedkar School in Bordowali, assuring necessary government support.
