A devastating fire in a northern Serbian city early Friday claimed the lives of six individuals, including four young children, according to police reports.
The blaze erupted around 3 am in Novi Sad, which is about 90 kilometers (54 miles) north of the capital, Belgrade, as stated by Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.
An emergency doctor informed state-run television channel RTS that, tragically, all the victims were already deceased when medical teams arrived at the scene. Dacic confirmed in a statement that preliminary findings point to a charging electric scooter as the potential cause of the fire.
The children involved in this tragic incident were aged between 2 and 7 years old, Dacic added.
