Tragic Drowning Incident Claims Lives of Two Young Girls
Two young girls drowned while bathing in a canal in Purandarpur. Despite efforts by local residents, only one girl was rescued and taken for medical treatment. The two deceased, Anshika and Rubi, have been sent for post-mortem. Legal proceedings are ongoing.

Two young girls lost their lives while bathing in a canal in Purandarpur on Thursday, police reported.
Purandarpur SHO Sunil Verma disclosed that the tragedy struck when three girls stumbled into a deeper part of the canal. Local residents successfully rescued one of the girls, who was later transported to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Laxmipur for medical care.
Unfortunately, the other two girls, identified as Anshika, 11, and Rubi, 12, could not be saved. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further legal procedures are currently in progress, police added.
