Shocking Attack in Puttur: Girl Assaulted by Fellow Student

In Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, a girl was attacked by a fellow student with a crush on her after she rejected his advances. She is currently being treated at a government hospital. The police have registered a case and investigations are underway.

In a disturbing incident in Puttur, Dakshina Kannada, a young girl was assaulted by a fellow student who harbored romantic feelings towards her. Superintendent of Police Yathish N. stated that the attack occurred on the morning of August 20 while the girl was en route to college.

The attacker, known to the victim, allegedly approached her to express his feelings and, faced with rejection, turned violent. Using a weapon, he injured her hand. The victim is now receiving medical care at the local government hospital.

A case has been filed at the D.K. Women's Police Station under case number 42/2024. Legal action has been initiated under sections 78, 126(2), 118(1), 238 BNS 2023, and section 12 of the POCSO Act. An investigation is ongoing. (ANI)
