The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a suspected smuggler, Jaj Singh, during an ambush operation in Fazilka district on Saturday night. The operation was based on intelligence provided by the force's intelligence wing, the BSF revealed in a press release.

In a social media post, BSF Punjab Frontier shared details of the operation, which took place on the night of August 17, 2024. Acting on the intelligence input, BSF troops set up an ambush in Dona Nanak village, Fazilka. During the operation, they observed suspicious movement and successfully nabbed Singh.

According to the BSF, Singh, who had been evading arrest, was on their list of suspected smugglers. His name had surfaced during the interrogation of arrested narcotic traffickers. A mobile phone with various suspicious contacts was seized from his possession. Singh, a resident of Sona Nanak village under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station in Fazilka, was handed over to the local police after initial questioning. The BSF credited the success to their reliable intelligence network and the swift action of their vigilant troops.
