UNICEF Lauds Madhya Pradesh's Menstrual Health Initiative

The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) India has praised Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for his noteworthy initiatives aimed at promoting menstrual health among adolescents in the state.
UNICEF India acknowledged that a substantial amount of Rs 57.18 crores has been deposited into the bank accounts of 19 lakh school-going girls in Madhya Pradesh via a cash transfer scheme.
Using its official account on the microblogging site X, UNICEF India stated, "We appreciate Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav's initiative to promote menstrual health among adolescents. Rs 57.18 crores was transferred into the accounts of 19 lakh school-going girls in Madhya Pradesh as part of the cash transfers scheme. UNICEF India is collaborating with the Government of India and various stakeholders to boost school hygiene and menstrual health awareness."
On August 11, during an event organized in the state capital Bhopal, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav supervised the transfer of a collective sum of Rs 57.18 crores to the accounts of 19 lakh female students under the 'Samagra Shiksha' programme. The funds are earmarked for the provision of sanitary napkins to girl students from classes 7 to 12.
This initiative is part of the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan by the school education department. Information about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene measures has also been disseminated among school and college girls.
