Following the Allahabad High Court's directive for a fresh selection list to appoint 69,000 assistant teachers in Uttar Pradesh, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has vehemently criticized the BJP government. He accused the ruling party of undermining the reservation system and jeopardizing the future of deserving candidates.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Gandhi hailed the court's decision as a 'befitting reply' to what he termed a conspiracy by the BJP government. He asserted that the ruling is a victory not only for the thousands of youth who have been protesting for justice over the past five years but also for every individual fighting for social justice.

'This is not only a victory for thousands of youth like Amit Maurya who have been continuously fighting on the roads in winter, summer, and rain for the last five years, but also for every warrior fighting for social justice,' Gandhi posted.

Gandhi criticized the BJP for what he described as 'stubbornness to snatch away reservation,' thereby pushing the future of hundreds of innocent candidates into darkness. Highlighting the struggles of those affected, he accused the ruling party of being the only culprit behind both the hardships and any potential job losses from the new list.

He reiterated his criticism by pointing to a previous post from February, which highlighted the alleged irregularities in the UP teacher recruitment process. Gandhi claimed that the OBC category received only 3.86% reservation instead of the mandated 27%, and the SC category received 16.6% instead of 21%, impacting around 19,000 posts. He also mentioned the ongoing struggle of 6,800 candidates whose list was released after the National Backward Classes Commission report.

'Tampering with the reservation process is a serious issue,' Gandhi wrote, affirming his support for the youth fighting for their rights and calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
