BSF's Ravi Gandhi Reviews Indo-Bangladesh Border Security Amidst Unrest

Ravi Gandhi, Additional Director General (ADG) of the BSF Eastern Command, Kolkata, conducted an in-depth review of operational preparedness and the security situation along the Indo-Bangladesh international border. This followed his four-day visit to the BSF Guwahati Frontier's area of responsibility. Gandhi also heads a Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) committee monitoring the border's current situation.
During his visit's first day at Sector Headquarters Gopalpur, ADG Gandhi was briefed by Inspector General (IG) of Guwahati Frontier, Makrand Deouskar, and senior staff officers. The briefing covered the current security challenges posed by unrest in Bangladesh and the necessary countermeasures. Discussions centered on strategies to prevent infiltration and trans-border crimes, ensuring the border's security.
ADG Gandhi also inspected Border Out Posts (BOPs) under Sector HQ Gopalpur's jurisdiction, interacting with field commanders to review the border domination plan and assess operational preparedness. He stressed maintaining peace along the border while ensuring local populations' safety. Gandhi praised BSF personnel's dedication and their effective border control efforts amidst the Bangladesh unrest.
The ADG reiterated BSF's commitment to national security and the need for vigilance against ongoing threats. He commended the Guwahati Frontier's initiatives in controlling cross-border crime and their effective guarding of the international boundary. Gandhi urged all personnel to continue their exemplary work in maintaining the Indo-Bangladesh border's integrity. (ANI)
