Union Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the Tricolour at his residence in the national capital on Wednesday, joining the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative ahead of Independence Day. Shah also commemorated 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' by paying homage to those who lost their lives during the partition.

Amit Shah took to social media platform X to express his sentiments, stating, "On Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, my homage to the millions who suffered inhumane pains, lost lives, and turned homeless during this most hideous episode of our history. Only a nation that remembers its history can build its future and emerge as a powerful entity. Observing this day is a foundational exercise in the process of nation-building under the leadership of PM Shri @narendramodi Ji." Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also participated in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign by hoisting a Tiranga at his residence in Lucknow and taking a selfie with it.

On Tuesday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, along with Union Ministers Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Kiren Rijiju, and Mansukh Mandaviya, launched a bike rally under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign from Bharat Mandapam in the national capital. Vice President Dhankhar highlighted that 'Har Ghar Tiranga' symbolizes our independence, pride, and commitment to Viksit Bharat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier urged citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign to commemorate Independence Day. During the 112th 'Mann Ki Baat' on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called on all Indians to participate in the campaign to celebrate the nation's independence.

'Har Ghar Tiranga' is a campaign under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, launched in 2021 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it, marking the 75th year of India's independence. The initiative aims to invoke patriotism and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
