Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge convened a crucial meeting with all general secretaries, PCC presidents, and state in-charges of the party at the AICC Headquarters on Tuesday. The session, also attended by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, aimed to discuss organizational matters and preparation for the upcoming assembly elections along with various national concerns.

In a statement on social media platform X, Kharge emphasized the meeting's focus on election preparedness and critical national issues. "The shocking revelations of the nexus between SEBI and Adani need a thorough investigation. The money of small investors in the stock market can't be jeopardised. The Modi government must seek the resignation of the SEBI chairperson and constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for this matter," he stated.

Kharge also addressed the pressing issues of unemployment, inflation, and depletion of household savings, lamenting that the poor and middle class have been betrayed. He reiterated the demand for a caste census, stating it is the people's demand. Additionally, Kharge assured that the Congress party would continue its fight for a legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) and the scrapping of the Agnipath Scheme. He also highlighted the recurring train derailments and climate-related disasters, underscoring the need to design a national campaign around these concerns.

Party General Secretary KC Venugopal further echoed these concerns, pressing for a nationwide caste census and addressing recent natural disasters in Wayanad, Uttarakhand, Himachal, and northeastern states. He also urged the Government of India to ensure the protection and dignity of religious minorities in Bangladesh.
