The British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, visited Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar, marking her first trip to the state since taking office. Their discussions highlighted growing India-UK relations under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
CM Patel noted Gujarat's role in renewable energy, mentioning the construction of the world's largest hybrid energy park and advancements in green hydrogen. Cameron expressed interest in partnering in this sector and acknowledged the contributions of the Indian diaspora and Gujarati community in Britain.
Cameron also welcomed potential industrial investments from Gujarat into Britain and praised the state's cooperation with British enterprises. Discussions included British expertise in cyber security and preparations for the 2036 Olympics in Gujarat.
