Manish Sisodia, accompanied by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Sanjay Singh and Atishi, met his lawyer, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, at his residence on Saturday, a day after his release from Tihar Jail. Earlier, Sisodia visited Raj Ghat along with several AAP leaders to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He also offered prayers at Hanuman Mandir in Connaught Place.

After his visit to the temple, Sisodia expressed optimism that Arvind Kejriwal would also be released from jail soon. ''Lord Bajrang Bali has blessed me. Arvind Kejriwal also has the blessings of Lord Bajrang Bali, and you will see that Kejriwal ji will be blessed in the same way,'' Sisodia remarked.

Early in the morning, Sisodia took to social media to share a photograph enjoying his morning tea with his wife, captioning it as the ''first tea of an independent morning.. after 17 months!'' He emphasized the importance of the freedom guaranteed by the Constitution and the freedom to breathe in the open air.

Sisodia's release from Tihar Jail on August 9 was granted by the Supreme Court in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. The decision was made by a bench of justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan, who imposed several conditions, including surrendering his passport and not influencing witnesses.

Sisodia was initially arrested by the CBI in February 2023 for alleged irregularities in the creation and implementation of Delhi's now-scrapped new excise policy. The policy had been withdrawn amidst opposition allegations of foul play.

The CBI stated that Sisodia played a crucial role in the criminal conspiracy and was deeply involved in both the formulation and execution of the policy. (ANI)
