Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has exhorted representatives of all Gram panchayats and state bodies to participate in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, aiming to intertwine Independence Day celebrations with environmental protection efforts. Dhami, in a communique to village heads, emphasized that the campaign would make the upcoming August 15 festivities both effective and memorable.

Dhami noted that the state comprises 7,795 Gram panchayats, 95 area panchayats, and 13 district panchayats, urging these institutions to formulate a robust plan for the national festival. He called for the campaign to promote environmental awareness and combat climate change by conducting tree plantations at key locations such as Amrit Sarovar, panchayat offices, schools, and playgrounds.

In addition, Dhami advocated for the assignment of honorary nodal officers at every Gram panchayat level to facilitate public participation in the initiative. Earlier this week, under the 'Harialo Rajasthan' initiative, Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar kicked off the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, underscoring the importance of tree planting for health and environmental sustainability.
