Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday targeted Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu regarding the allocation of central government funds. Ranaut claimed that although Prime Minister Narendra Modi provides funds to the Chief Minister, these are not reaching the people affected by the catastrophic flood.

Ranaut emphasized that displaced residents have not received the Rs 7 lakh allotted to them by the central government and called for a special enquiry. "The condition of the state government is visible to everyone. The displaced people haven't got Rs 7 lakhs allotted to them. PM Modi will give the funds to Sukhu Ji but he will not give it to the people," she said amid ongoing relief operations in Samej village near Rampur in Shimla after catastrophic cloudbursts on August 1.

According to data from the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA), 85 roads, including two National Highways, are closed due to landslides and heavy rain. Additionally, 116 electricity supply schemes and 65 water supply schemes have been disrupted across the state.

A catastrophic cloudburst also hit Lahaul and Spiti districts on Monday, washing away two bridges in the Chicham area. Public Works Department Minister Vikramaditya Singh reported nearly 80 roads closed and a loss of Rs 300 crore to the PWD. Initial search and relief operations are ongoing in Kullu and Shimla, with eight bodies recovered in Mandi and 30 people still missing.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu has sought financial assistance from the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister but has not yet received any aid. Singh added, "We hope that we will get help soon."
