BCCL Pays First-Ever Dividend After Reporting Record Profit

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), has paid its first-ever dividend of Rs 44.43 crore. This milestone follows BCCL's net profit of Rs 1,564 crore and turnover of Rs 13,216 crore for the financial year 2023-24. The dividend was approved at BCCL's 53rd Annual General Meeting.

Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), marked a significant milestone by paying its first-ever dividend of Rs 44.43 crore to its parent company.

This historic payment follows BCCL's remarkable financial performance, reporting a net profit of Rs 1,564 crore and a turnover of Rs 13,216 crore for the financial year 2023-24. BCCL chairman-cum-managing director Samiran Dutta handed over the dividend to CIL chairman P M Prasad during a formal ceremony.

The dividend payment had received approval from BCCL shareholders at the company's 53rd Annual General Meeting on August 1. Dutta credited the company's strong financial performance to its consistent growth rate of 15 per cent over recent years.
