Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the temporary relief camp at Government Inter College Vinak Khal in Tehri on Tuesday to assess arrangements for those affected by the recent disaster. He emphasized the importance of ensuring proper care for children, pregnant women, the elderly, and the disabled at the camp.
During his visit, Dhami met with the disaster-affected individuals, inquired about their well-being, and listened to their concerns. He expressed deep condolences for the loss of life and prayed for the peace of the departed souls and strength for the bereaved families.
Highlighting the challenges posed by Uttarakhand's geographical conditions, Dhami praised the district administration for their swift and alert response. He assured that the state and central governments are committed to providing ongoing support to the affected people. Rehabilitation efforts, including the displacement process in Tingarh village and other affected areas, are in progress.
Dhami also announced that the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure, such as security walls, schools, bridges, and embankments, would commence soon. He stressed that a lack of funds would not hinder disaster protection work and urged the community to cooperate and remain patient during this difficult time. He instructed officials to remain vigilant about at-risk houses and called on public representatives to assist in every possible way.
District Magistrate Mayur Dixit reported that a geological survey for rehabilitating Tingarh village is complete, with in-principle approval received. The process of land identification is ongoing, and the displacement of 28 families from village Kot is underway. A temporary cowshed has been arranged for about 100 animals from Tingarh. (ANI)
