The deadly accident occurred on Monday at a coal mine in Quang Ninh province, Vietnam's largest coal mining hub, a statement from the provincial People's Committee confirmed.
The victims, all males aged between 23 and 47, worked for a unit of the state-owned coal miner Vinacomin, according to state media reports. Vinacomin has not yet commented on the incident. Investigations are ongoing to identify the cause of the collapse, the provincial committee stated.
