Chandra Kumar Bose, the grandnephew of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, has appealed to the Indian Union Government to repatriate the freedom fighter's remains from Japan's Renkoji temple by August 18, Netaji's death anniversary.
Bose emphasized that Netaji sacrificed his life for India's independence on August 18, 1945, and his remains, currently in Japan, should return to the country. He mentioned that Netaji's daughter, Anita Bose Pfaff, wishes to perform last rites in India according to Hindu traditions.
Netaji's family and supporters cited conclusive evidence that Bose died on August 18, 1945, and highlighted the willingness of the Renkoji temple authorities to repatriate his remains. 'He belongs to India,' said Chandra Kumar Bose, urging the government to honor the national hero.
