In a heated political exchange, NCP chief Sharad Pawar retaliated against Union Home Minister Amit Shah's allegations of corruption. Pawar highlighted the irony of Shah leading the Home Ministry, given his past legal troubles that led to his temporary externment from Gujarat by the Supreme Court.
'The one who was banished is the Home Minister of the country today,' Pawar remarked, urging citizens to question the nation's current direction. He warned that the government's trajectory under Shah could lead the country down a dangerous path.
The confrontation began when Shah, speaking at a BJP conclave in Pune, accused Pawar of being the 'ringleader of corruption in Indian politics.' Shah asserted that Pawar had institutionalized corruption and denounced recent opposition claims of BJP corruption.
Shah further attacked the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) over a controversial milk powder import issue, promising that no imports would occur for the next five years. He also accused Pawar of disrupting Maratha reservations and pledged to uphold them if the BJP regained power in the state.
Turning his attention to Congress, Shah criticized the party for spreading 'misconceptions' about reservations and failing to deliver on promises of welfare for the underprivileged. He emphasized BJP's consistent electoral successes, contrasting them with Congress' inability to secure 240 seats over the past three elections.
'BJP got 240 seats, NDA got 300 seats, and the entire INDI alliance could not even reach 240 seats. The people of India endorsed Modi ji's leadership for the third consecutive time,' Shah concluded.
