Amid torrential rains, Gujarat's Navsari district is grappling with severe waterlogging, prompting extensive rescue operations by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The NDRF has been evacuating residents stranded in inundated areas, with rescue missions still ongoing.

Among those rescued are five individuals from Mithila Nagari, including a child and an ailing woman. 'We had received information about people being marooned in Mithila Nagari,' said DR Patel, Probationary Deputy SP, Navsari Town Police. 'With the NDRF team's assistance, we successfully rescued them from a building where an entire floor was submerged.'

In response to the flooding, Navsari Municipality has prepared 20,000 food packets to aid affected residents. 'We have been preparing and distributing these food packets since morning,' stated Meenal Desai, chief of Navsari Municipality. District Collector Kshipra S Agre inspected shelter homes and reported that 110 people have been moved to safety. Authorities are urging residents to cooperate for their well-being.

Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel highlighted measures to prevent water-borne diseases, with medical teams deployed in affected areas. Heavy rains have caused significant damage across several districts, with the death toll rising to 61. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted an aerial survey to assess the situation in coastal regions.
