The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared that all schools and colleges within its jurisdiction will operate as usual on Friday despite recent heavy rainfall. According to a post on social media platform X, the BMC assured residents that current weather conditions in Mumbai are stable, allowing normal city life to resume.

All educational institutions in the BMC area will remain open on Friday, July 26, 2024. In its announcement, the BMC urged parents to ignore misinformation and rely solely on official channels for updates. In contrast, schools and colleges in Raigad district have been ordered to close due to a heavy rainfall alert.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on July 26 and a yellow alert for July 27. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reviewed the state's preparedness and instructed the Raigad collector to assist those affected by the floods. The IMD also issued red alerts for Raigad on July 26 and orange alerts for Ratnagiri and Satara.
