Delhi witnessed light rain showers in the early hours of Wednesday, marking the latest twist in the city's erratic weather patterns. Parts of the national capital experienced a brief yet refreshing spell of rain, with visuals from RK Puram capturing the drizzly morning.

On Monday, Delhi faced a sudden weather change with heavy rains lashing various parts of the city. June set a record with the highest rainfall in 88 years, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Specifically, 228 mm of rainfall was recorded within a 24-hour period from 8:30 a.m. on June 27 to 8:30 a.m. on June 28.

The total rainfall in June reached 235.5 mm, the maximum observed in the month since 1936. Due to this deluge, water levels in the Yamuna River have surged, prompting authorities to issue alerts to Noida residents along the riverbanks. This area had experienced significant flooding during the last monsoon season, leading to severe inconvenience for residents.

Additionally, the IMD issued an orange alert for several districts in Himachal Pradesh on July 21, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall for the week. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected across various Himachal districts. Earlier in the month, the region saw extensive disruptions due to the heavy rains, affecting 70 roads, 51 water supply schemes, and 84 electricity supply schemes. (ANI)
