Headquarters Army Training Command today conducted an interaction session with veterans and ex-servicemen from the Shimla region. The initiative aimed to reinforce the Indian Armed Forces' commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of its retired personnel.

During the session, veterans were briefed on the latest policies, benefits, and welfare schemes instituted by both central and state governments. Officials highlighted new Memorandums of Understanding with various national and private banks, which offer enhanced facilities and coverage for both serving and retired Armed Forces personnel.

In exclusive addresses, veterans received updates on SPARSH, the System for Pension Administration, as well as necessary post-retirement documentation procedures. The session also covered the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and the Zila Sainik Welfare Organisation (ZIWO) schemes. Additionally, the Agnipath Scheme was discussed, with officials outlining its benefits and the future opportunities available for Agniveers post their four-year tenure.
