The Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is receiving commendable responses from women in Latur district, with 1.43 lakh applications lodged so far, an official revealed on Sunday.

The administration has established centers in every village and urban area within the district to facilitate application acceptance. Additionally, efforts are underway to expedite the online registration process for forms initially submitted offline, the official stated.

In rural areas, the scheme's forms are managed by Anganwadi and ASHA workers, Gram Sevaks, ration shopkeepers, talathis, agriculture assistants, and women's self-help group coordinators. Municipal councils in Udgir and Ausa are spearheading door-to-door application campaigns.

As of Sunday, 1,43,105 applications have been submitted, with 88,447 registered online. Efforts continue to register the remaining 54,658 entries, the official added.

Under the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin scheme, announced in the state Budget, married, divorced, and destitute women aged 21-60 will receive Rs 1,500 per month, provided their annual family income does not exceed Rs 2.5 lakh.
