Healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh have been significantly disrupted due to a global software glitch in Microsoft systems, a senior state health official reported.
'There have been reports of some software issues since yesterday, and these are temporary,' said Sanjay Awasthi, Chief Parliamentary Secretary of the Health Department. 'We are working on improving the health care system as the Chief Minister wants to provide the best services to the people.'
The state has released funds for Himcare card holders to cover pending dues, and new facilities, like the OPD at Chamiyana in Shimla, are set to open soon.
Patients and their attendants, however, are facing problems. 'Our patients are not getting the reports, and servers are down,' said Rakesh, an attendant.
Dr. Subhash, Medical Superintendent at Kamla Nehru Hospital, acknowledged the challenges but assured that measures are being taken. 'We are maintaining manual records to mitigate the situation while we work towards resolving the issue,' he said. Krsnaa Diagnostics, responsible for pathological lab services in the region, has also been impacted.
