BJP Youth Leader of Madhya Pradesh, Prakash Yadav, was shot early Friday morning at 1 a.m. The attacker, identified as retired army officer SP Bhadoria, had a prior dispute with Yadav earlier that evening in Hamukhedi, under the Nagjhiri Police Station.

Superintendent of Police Pradeep Sharma stated that officers were investigating an ongoing financial dispute between Yadav and Bhadoria when the latter arrived on a motorcycle, armed with a licensed pistol. Bhadoria shot Yadav in front of the police. The bullet struck Yadav in the right side of his chest. He is currently being treated at Sanjeevani Hospital, is out of danger, but remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Sharma added that police chased Bhadoria away from the scene. Bhadoria's elder brother, who is a co-accused, has been arrested, and a police team has been deployed to apprehend Bhadoria.
