British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host Volodymyr Zelenskiy at a meeting of his top ministers on Friday, showcasing support for the Ukrainian leader as new plans unfold to disrupt Russia's evasion of shipping sanctions. This comes a day after hosting European leaders at Blenheim Palace.

Starmer aims to bolster the UK's role in international affairs. Zelenskiy will support a new initiative to combat Russia's 'shadow fleet' of oil tankers that breach sanctions. The British government is set to share data on these vessels to ensure penalties and action are effectively implemented. A new defence export support treaty will also be signed to provide 3.5 billion pounds in export finance to Ukraine.

Britain continues to stand firmly with Ukraine. Recent sanctions were imposed on 11 vessels transporting Russian oil. Starmer's move reinforces Britain's unwavering support for Kyiv, especially significant after the recent election reaffirmed his government's commitment. The newly launched measures will enhance the strategic defence capabilities of both nations, promising increased resource flow and production.
